About The Project
The Inn at the Lake provides breakfast to every guest daily as part of the package when they book a room. Our kitchen is a hub of activity every morning as we prepare hearty, delicious breakfasts for all our guests, and it needs a big shot of deferred maintenance. The Inn was built in the mid 1970's and the kitchen was expanded in the 1980's, but not much has been updated since. This major renovation project entails:
-
Replacement of the dishwashing station and the sanitizer machine, which have been leaking and creating water damage-related issues for years. The cost for the purchase and installation of this equipment and plumbing is $8,000
-
The floor and subfloor in half of the kitchen has to be removed and the water damage to the joists and subfloor must be repaired and/or replaced. The wall board on two sides of the kitchen must be removed and replaced and new plastic or laminate wall panels will be purchased and installed over the wall board. The pipes and valves for the kitchen and much of the Inn has been failing for several years and will be replaced with new Pex piping. The cost for all of this is $30,000.
-
The old flooring has already been removed in October by volunteers, and new flooring has already been donated and will be installed by volunteers before the 2025 season starts.
Total project costs: $38,000.
